Colocasia ‘Black Coral’ Taro

Colocasia esculenta ‘Black Coral’—part of the renowned Royal Hawaiian® series—is widely considered the absolute pinnacle of dark foliage for water garden design. While cultivars like 'Black Magic' have dusty, matte purple tones, 'Black Coral' is famous for its ultra-glossy, corrugated, near jet-black leaves that feature a deep metallic blue sheen and striking electric-blue veins. 

When positioned at a pond's edge, its highly reflective, dark surfaces contrast beautifully against bright water lines and green marginal selections.
