Crinum ‘Menehune’ - Red Leaf Bog Lily

Crinum ‘Menehune’, commonly known as the Red Leaf Bog Lily or Red Swamp Lily, is a striking, compact tropical hybrid engineered specifically for water gardens and boggy landscapes. Introduced by the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, its cultivar name pays homage to the legendary Menehune—a mythological race of diminutive Hawaiian forest dwellers. 

Unlike larger Crinum varieties whose colors fade over the season, 'Menehune' retains its deep, glossy burgundy-red to near-black lance-shaped leaves all year long. From mid-summer to late autumn, it produces contrasting clusters of fragrant, spiky pastel-pink flowers on rigid, dark red stalks.
