Cyperus percamenthus - Compact giant papyrus

Cyperus percamenthus—commonly known as Compact Giant Papyrus, Dwarf Giant Papyrus, or the "Oxymoron Papyrus"—is a popular, highly adaptive aquatic sedge prized by water gardeners. It delivers the exotic, dramatic look of traditional Egyptian Papyrus but in a much more manageable, wind-resistant size. 

Botanically, the trade name Cyperus percamenthus is technically invalid; the plant is actually a distinct, thick-stemmed cultivar known as Cyperus papyrus 'Dwarf Form' or "Little Giant". It was originally isolated during research in Japan in 1993 before making its way into western water gardening markets.
