Hygrophila difformis - Water wisteria

Water Wisteria, is a staple freshwater aquarium plant native to the marshy regions of the Indian subcontinent. Highly prized by beginners and veteran aquascapers alike, it is celebrated for its beautiful, deeply segmented emerald foliage and its incredibly fast growth rate, which helps keep fish tanks naturally clean.

If allowed to grow out of the water or when cultivated on land, the leaves revert to a much simpler, dark green, oval shape with lightly serrated edges. It will also produce small, violet-blue tubular flowers when grown emersed.
