Iris pseudata - ‘Chaki’ Peach

Iris pseudata 'Chaki' (translated as "Tea Party") is a beautifully complex aquatic perennial hybrid bred by Hiroshi Shimizu in Japan and registered by Carol S. Warner in 2015. It was selected from a cross between the Pseudata variety 'Gubijin' and a mixed Japanese Iris (Iris ensata) pollen line. Taller and more vigorous than its sibling 'Kinshikou', 'Chaki' is a completely sterile and non-invasive grower, eliminating any ecological concerns regarding water gardens.

'Chaki' features a unique color lifecycle. The blooms emerge as a deep, peachy-rose or cream-peach. Over time, the flowers enlarge and gradually lighten to a soft, warm peach-yellow.
