Iris pseudata - ‘Shiryukyo’

Iris × pseudata 'Shiryukyo' (translated from Japanese as "Purple Dragon's Valley") is a majestic and robust interspecies hybrid water iris. Bred by the prominent hybridizer Hiroshi Shimizu and introduced in 2008, this exceptional variety received an Honorable Mention from the American Iris Society in 2011. It seamlessly blends the tropical, orchid-like elegance of the Japanese Iris (I. ensata) with the intense growing power and heavy flower volume of the Yellow Flag Iris (I. pseudacorus).
