Ranunculus flammula - Miniature Spearwort

Ranunculus flammula, commonly known as Miniature Spearwort or Lesser Spearwort, is a delicate, low-growing aquatic perennial wildflower belonging to the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). Unlike its massive, dramatic neighbors like the Colocasia, this plant offers a charming, finely textured groundcover option with glossy bright yellow, cup-shaped flowers that bloom continuously from late spring through late summer.

It thrives brilliantly along the shallow perimeter shelf, safely handling water depths anywhere from completely damp soil up to 3 inches deep.

Safety Warning: Like most members of the Ranunculus family, the sap contains protoanemonin, a toxin that causes skin blistering upon contact and severe gastrointestinal distress if ingested by pets or livestock.
