Rotala indica, commonly known in the aquarium trade as Pink Sprite, is a highly adaptive aquatic perennial stem plant belonging to the loosestrife family (Lythraceae). Celebrated for its unique ability to grow both completely submerged in aquariums or emerged along wet shorelines, it provides a stunning color gradient shifting from vibrant light green to intense pink and deep red under optimal lighting.
Emerged (Bog/Pond Edge): When grown out of water on a damp shoreline, the stems creep horizontally along the mud, developing small, round, fleshy, thick green leaves. It produces tiny, inconspicuous pinkish flowers at the leaf joints.
