Salvinia oblongifolia - Oblong water velvet

Salvinia oblongifolia (commonly known as the Oblong Water Velvet or Giant Water Velvet) is a rare, highly sought-after floating aquatic fern native to Brazil. It holds the title of the largest species in the entire Salvinia genus. Unlike smaller floaters like duckweed or Salvinia minima, which can quickly clog filter intakes and create a messy appearance, 'Oblongifolia' grows in massive, highly structured, and easily manageable mats.
