Scirpus cernuus - Fiber optics rush

Scirpus cernuus (syn. Isolepis cernua), widely known as Fiber Optic Grass or Fiber Optics Rush, is a highly distinctive, low-growing ornamental sedge. It earns its quirky common name from its long, thread-like green blades that drape downward, tipped with tiny, silvery-white flower spikelets that look exactly like the glowing tips of a fiber-optic lamp.

Though it masquerades as a rush or a grass, it is technically a true sedge native to damp coastal and wetland habitats around the globe.
