Thalia geniculata ruminoides - Redstem Thalia

Thalia geniculata f. ruminoides (commonly known as Redstem Thalia or Red-Stemmed Alligator Flag) is a spectacular, massive semi-aquatic perennial native to the tropical wetlands of the Americas and Africa. A member of the Marantaceae family, it is sometimes called a "Water Canna" due to its bold architectural look. It is highly prized by pond owners for bringing an immediate exotic, tropical focal point to open water features.

The absolute standout feature of this cultivar is its thick, vibrant, ruby-red petioles (leaf stalks). The stems can be heavily streaked or entirely solid dark red, contrasting sharply against the foliage.
